  2. Mar 06,  · Besides "You're Only lonely" and "White Rhythm and Blues", this album is basic 70's countrified rock, but is still a pleasing listen all the same save for the silly "Fifteen Bucks", which is probably one of the few songs by Souther I can't stand. If you like the eagles or are just buying for the title track, go for it.

  5. "You're Only Lonely" is a single by J. D. Souther from his album of the same name. The single peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot , Souther's only top ten pop hit, and spent five weeks at number one on the Adult Contemporary chart.. Souther hired Danny Kortchmar to play guitar, David Sanborn saxophone, and to help out with the harmony, Phil Everly, Jackson Browne, and three.
  6. I stumbled upon J.D. Souther browsing and purchased this CD. I LOVE it. I think he is great and am disappointed in searching further that he only has 3 CDs listed and those in the 70s. I don't know what happened with his career but I wish he'd come back! I loved White Rhythm and Blues; and You're Only Lonely is just the best/5(60).
